Description

SPHERE Zenith 4.2 - Break-Off - 70-90gr - Glue-In Points - 12 Pieces

The bullet point derives its shape and name from classic firearm bullets. The form is noticeably rounder and overall thicker. It preserves the target and is easier to extract.

Hard, harder, hardest: Carbon Steel

Carbon steel consists of approximately 98-99% iron and carbon, which gives it its name. Carbon is added during manufacturing because it imparts a hardness to the material that iron alone would not achieve during processing. This type of steel is so hard that today most sharp blades are made of it: razors, scalpels, utility knives, and high-quality kitchen knives.

Despite all its excellent properties, carbon steel does have one drawback: it can rust. With a bit of care, this effect can be minimized or corrected and is more of a cosmetic issue in archery than an actual problem.

The All-Rounder: Stainless Steel

In contrast to carbon steel, stainless steel (also known as rust-resistant steel or chrome steel) is an alloy consisting of significantly more elements, i.e., besides iron and carbon, it also contains chromium and other metals. Chromium renders stainless steel rust-resistant. The carbon content is naturally significantly lower than in pure carbon steel, making the points "softer" and less dimensionally stable.

The Ultimate: Tungsten

When it comes to maximum performance, tungsten (also known as wolfram) is the material of choice. Its density is almost twice that of steel, which offers a crucial advantage: the point can be designed significantly shorter and slimmer at the same weight. This shifts the arrow's point of balance further forward (F.O.C.) and ensures an extremely stable flight path, even in the wind. Additionally, tungsten is so incredibly hard and resilient that the points scarcely deform even upon hard impacts. Anyone seeking precision at championship level cannot overlook this high-tech material.
