The construction of a high-strength but lightweight carbon tube as the core and a 7075 aluminum jacket is still an innovation today, giving the shaft significantly more energy and penetrating power than a pure carbon shaft. The aluminum provides the stability, the carbon the necessary lightness and both together for absolute accuracy.
