The length of an arrow is always measured from the beginning of the shaft (without the point) to the nock bottom, i.e. the point of the nock at which the string lies.

- With the option "Length from shaft end", the actual arrow is therefore approx. 0.5" longer than selected,
as the distance between the shaft end and the nock, the bottom must be added to the pure shaft length.
The total length of the arrow is thus about 0.5" longer than the highest length selectable here.

- With the option "Length from Nock bottom" the actual arrow corresponds to the selected length, because here the pure shaft is shortened so much that the desired length is reached at the nock bottom.

Protector Ring

The Protector Ring is a sleeve which is glued onto the shaft at the front and back and covers the shaft to approx. 1cm.
The ring prevents the carbon from breaking or splicing at its most sensitive points. It can be used with any insert and with any point or cam.

In a test, a GoldTip arrow (Spine 5575) was shot several times at a concrete slab with a 53 lbs longbow (Fast Flight string) and survived (except for the tip). The shots were fired from a distance of 5m. This needs no further words....

With the GOLDTIP Hunter factory fletched, you can customize your arrow. Besides choosing the spine and whether you prefer vanes or natural feathers, you can still specify the length and the tip to be fletched to get your desired arrow.
