EK ARCHERY Cobra System RX Adder – 130 lbs – Pistol crossbow
Strikingly different! As venomous as its namesake! – These are the impressions you get when you see and shoot the EK ARCHERY Cobra System Adder for the first time.
Strikingly different because even its appearance is unusual. However, the distinctive triangular shape is not just for looks, but the result of innovative technology, because it has never been easier to cock a crossbow: the long connection between the pistol grip and the tip is the lever for cocking the crossbow. But how does it all work? The answer is simple and, above all, much better than with all conventional systems. When the cocking lever on the pistol grip is released and pushed forward, the entire trigger assembly, including the safety catch, also moves forward and locks onto the uncocked string. When the cocking lever is moved back to its original position, the trigger assembly with the locked string moves back to the firing position and the crossbow is cocked. And thanks to the long lever, this requires significantly less force than with conventional systems.
Innovation 2.0 – Pistol crossbow with magazine
Anyone who has ever fired the EK ARCHERY Cobra System Adder will understand why it is as poisonous as its namesake. Despite, or perhaps because of, its power, safety has also been taken into account and the crossbow has been equipped with a blank firing safety device to protect it from damage.
The unique cocking mechanism is now joined by another innovation that has been sorely lacking in the pistol crossbow market: a magazine for the bolts! Yes, you read that right, the EK ARCHERY Cobra System Adder has a magazine above the barrel that can hold up to 7 bolts. When the crossbow is cocked, a bolt is automatically loaded into the barrel and the crossbow is ready to fire. Gone are the days of carrying bolts in a quiver and having to load them individually for each shot.
But the best thing is: EK ARCHERY has completely redesigned and improved the magazine of the Adder crossbow. The new magazine now holds 7 bolts instead of 5, which are easier to reload than in the old model.
In addition to its design and power, the materials used and other features are also impressive: the pistol crossbow itself is made of high-strength plastic, the barrel and cocking lever are made of metal, and the limb is made of pressed fibreglass. The upper mounting rail has a built-in rear sight and front sight and can be used as a mount for a scope. Additional Picatinny rails are located on the front side and on the cocking lever for mounting a tactical front grip.
