JACKALOPE - Bloodstone - 60-68 inches - 25-60 lbs - Take Down Recurve Bow
The Bloodstone is a very special member of the JACKALOPE family: it is the ultimate competition bow! The development of this bow was a clear decision - no compromises are made in terms of competition performance. The focus is solely on building a bow with unparalleled precision, absolute quietness and first-class throwing performance.
Extremely heavy stable wood gives the bow an unparalleled rest. This innovative material made of wood soaked in synthetic resin is particularly resistant and distortion-resistant. With this bow, you can safely eliminate "hand shock" from your vocabulary.
No compromises have been made with the limbs either: double-layer carbon ensures maximum performance and maximum arrow speeds. The core of the limbs is made of high-quality bamboo wood, which is covered on both sides with carbon laminate. Depending on the arrow weight, speeds of 230fps and more are taken for granted.
And the bow is also visually a clear champ. Particularly striking is the exceptional play of colours of the handle, with its basic colour of black and deep red accents is clearly reminiscent of its eponym, Bloodstone. For the limbs, a final clear glass lamination was deliberately chosen, so that the carbon layers remain visible. A symbol for the perfect blend of traditional archery and state-of-the-art materials and technologies.
Another detail, perhaps not so obvious in its perfection, is the hand-cut transitions from the handle to the limbs. The handle merges seamlessly into the limbs and makes forget that this is a three-piece bow. The elegant design can also be seen in inconspicuous details.
The namesake of this bow stands for vitality, passion and strength. It enlivens body and mind. Even difficult challenges can be mastered more easily. The Bloodstone is a special form of jasper, the mother of all gemstones. Already 5000 years ago in ancient Mesopotamia warriors wore the stone as a talisman to secure their victory.
There is hardly a better eponym for this competition bow. We have focused on performance and accuracy, the Bloodstone helps you to focus on your competition. Like your own coach at your side, ready to awaken the best performance in you.

Right-handed or left-handed?
Determination of the draw hand
The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-handed bow is held in the left hand and drawn with the right hand.
Determining your personal draw hand has far less to do with whether you are left-handed or right-handed than you might initially assume. It is much more about determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for aiming. This then automatically results in the draw hand.
The term dominant eye refers to the eye whose visual information is superimposed on everything. If a shooter tried to aim with the other eye, he would have to close the dominant eye.
There are two ways of determining the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally favoured, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the peephole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise that can be used to determine the dominant eye beyond doubt:
- The arms are stretched out and a triangle is formed with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands.
- A small target is aimed at through the triangle, for example a socket or a cupboard knob. Focus on this object.
- The hands are now slowly brought towards the face without taking the target object out of focus.
- The triangle of thumb and index fingers will involuntarily tend towards one side of the face and this is where the dominant eye is located.
If the dominance of the eye and hand do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can be easily retrained for the new draw hand, but not the eye.
