Description

JACKALOPE - Hagstone - 62 Inch - One Piece Recurve Bow - 25-45 lbs

The JACKALOPE Hagstone series bows are perhaps some of the most striking you'll see from JACKALOPE to date. While the innovative SRF Macassar wood - a highly stable combination of several layers of wood and epoxy resin - gives the grip its distinct appearance with clearly visible layers and stripes, it is the colouring in black and white that gives the riser its characteristic look, reminiscent of its fascinating namesake. The Hagstone - in German: Hühnergott - is an extraordinary natural phenomenon and is considered a lucky charm. The flint with the hole washed out of it awakens the hope of good fortune, which no one can escape. It is this hope that drives every archer to hit gold with the next shot. Each bow is unique and underlines the personal individuality of each archer. But of course it is not only the look that impresses: the highly stable SRF Macassar used reliably absorbs vibrations and minimises hand shocks.

The grip area offers pleasant comfort when shooting. The palm rest is slightly higher and the grip as a whole is less contoured to fit better in the hand. The shelf is clearly rounded and slopes more towards the front than on other bows. This means that it offers the arrow less contact surface and yet optimal guidance when firing. The limbs are made of bamboo and black glass. The bamboo wood is only visible as a thin strip on the sides, which frames the grip area with its warm brown tones and runs through the limbs into the tips. All this together makes the JACKALOPE Hagstone recurve bow fast, forgiving and very quiet to shoot.

SPEED - Carbon for even more speed

In the Speed versions the JACKALOPE Tourmaline is now even faster! An additional layer of carbon improves the already good-natured characteristics of the bow. It makes the bow more forgiving and ensures a tighter and more accurate hit pattern when shooting. But how does it achieve this? Quite simply: the carbon inlay not only makes the limbs lighter and more torsionally stiff, it also makes them about 10fps faster.

Right-handed or left-handed?

Determination of the draw hand

The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-handed bow is held in the left hand and drawn with the right hand.

Determining your personal draw hand has far less to do with whether you are left-handed or right-handed than you might initially assume. It is much more about determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for aiming. This then automatically results in the draw hand.

The term dominant eye refers to the eye whose visual information is superimposed on everything. If a shooter tried to aim with the other eye, he would have to close the dominant eye.

There are two ways of determining the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally favoured, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the peephole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise that can be used to determine the dominant eye beyond doubt:

  • The arms are stretched out and a triangle is formed with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands.
  • A small target is aimed at through the triangle, for example a socket or a cupboard knob. Focus on this object.
  • The hands are now slowly brought towards the face without taking the target object out of focus.
  • The triangle of thumb and index fingers will involuntarily tend towards one side of the face and this is where the dominant eye is located.

If the dominance of the eye and hand do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can be easily retrained for the new draw hand, but not the eye.
