Description

Riser | JACKALOPE - Obsidian - ILF - 17-23 inch

The Obsidian from Jackalope Archery represents the tip of modern bow making, a combination of advanced technology and traditional craftsmanship. The refined finish of the centerpiece emphasizes the craftsmanship that goes into every obsidian. Every single step in the manufacturing process is carried out with the utmost care to ensure the highest quality. Experience for yourself the fusion of cutting-edge technology and elegant design that makes the Obsidian an inimitable companion for discerning archers.

  • Exceptionally quiet and stable
An absolute highlight is the stabilized HD wood used, which is known for its high density and exceptional stability. Compared to the previous Dymondwood, this wood has more weight, which makes the bow even more stable and smoother when shooting. Every shot will be a real pleasure!
  • More weight - higher precision
The use of HD wood and the resulting additional weight minimizes vibrations. This makes the shot smoother and easier to control. This gives the arrow a smoother and more consistent trajectory for greater precision at the target.
  • Innovative design - inimitably colorful
While the focus is on technical progress, the Obsidian also offers a visually appealing appearance. The natural grain of the HD wood combined with a carefully conceived design gives this bow not only functional superiority, but also a high-quality character. At the heart of the bow is the artfully crafted, one-piece centerpiece, which is timeless with its classically elegant curves. As innovative as the centerpiece is, as extraordinary is its name! Obsidian is a gemstone with very special and not unimportant characteristics for archers. This elegant, black stone made of lava glass not only protects against negative energies, but also helps to realize one's own goals. It promotes perception and strengthens inner calm and patience. A thoroughly successful choice of name for the flawless JACKALOPE obsidian centerpieces and bows.

ILF - Full flexibility with unimagined precision!

JACKALOPE has paid particular attention to the limb mount on the Obsidian grip. Whereas traditional wooden centerpieces usually only have the option of using special screw-in limbs, this is different here: the Obsidian grip is equipped with the ILF plug-in system. ILF stands for the "International Limb Fitting" system, which is a standardized fitting in which the limbs are not screwed to the centerpiece, but simply plugged in. The Obsidian centerpiece has a unique mounting block! Made of full metal (aluminum), it is not only extremely stable and precise, but also enables a precise and stable ILF attachment to a wooden centerpiece, which is in no way inferior to that of a metal centerpiece.

The tiller is easy to adjust using the tiller screw, which, unlike other ILF attachments, has an additional ring that fixes the limbs so that there is no play when adjusting them when they are not tensioned. Once the optimum position has been found, this setting is fixed in the capstan screw with the aid of the hexagon socket screw. Lateral adjustment of the limbs is now also much more precise and secure, as the lateral grub screws are no longer installed in the wood of the center piece, but in the receiver. This means that overtightened screws in the wood or cracked center pieces are a thing of the past.

Anyone who chooses this exceptional bow is not only investing in their archery career, but also in a timeless companion full of elegance and style. Whether for competition or recreational use, the Obsidian meets the demands of experienced archers and sets new standards in terms of performance and design.

So if you are looking for an ILF attachment that offers the stability of a metal centerpiece, then the ILF attachment from JACKALOPE is definitely the ideal solution! And best of all, this high-quality bow comes with a 30-year guarantee! This shows you how much Jackalope believes in its quality.

Right-handed or left-handed?

Determination of the draw hand

The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-handed bow is held in the left hand and drawn with the right hand.

Determining your personal draw hand has far less to do with whether you are left-handed or right-handed than you might initially assume. It is much more about determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for aiming. This then automatically results in the draw hand.

The term dominant eye refers to the eye whose visual information is superimposed on everything. If a shooter tried to aim with the other eye, he would have to close the dominant eye.

There are two ways of determining the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally favoured, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the peephole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise that can be used to determine the dominant eye beyond doubt:

  • The arms are stretched out and a triangle is formed with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands.
  • A small target is aimed at through the triangle, for example a socket or a cupboard knob. Focus on this object.
  • The hands are now slowly brought towards the face without taking the target object out of focus.
  • The triangle of thumb and index fingers will involuntarily tend towards one side of the face and this is where the dominant eye is located.

If the dominance of the eye and hand do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can be easily retrained for the new draw hand, but not the eye.
