[SPECIAL EDITION] C.V. EDITION by SPIDERBOWS - Condor - 64-68 inch - Take Down Recurve Bow

The bow makers at SPIDERBOWS are making a colourful start to the 2023 outdoor season: The new special edition of the popular top model CONDOR by SPIDERBOWS presents itself in eight new colour variations. As genuine CONDOR bows of the C.V. line by SPIDERBOWS, they also rely on the proven geometry, which was worked out by world and European champion Christian Vorderegger in two years of development time:

  • The riser must be extremely torsionally stiff, really heavy and cut across the middle! SPIDERBOWS has managed to create a riser without additional aids such as metal inserts or similar, which is extremely stable due to stabilised wood of the latest generation and heavy enough at approx. 1060g (19 inches) to 1230g (23 inches). The combination of these factors enables a vibration-free shooting behaviour that not only feels extremely comfortable, but also culminates in absolute precision.
  • Thanks to the new asymmetrical geometry of the Condor, the bow window is cut further across the centre. Nevertheless, the bow remains absolutely stable and optimises the arrow flight and the possibilities of arrow tuning.
  • Last but not least, provided with a pleasant, ergonomic grip, the riser of the Condor nestles perfectly to the hand and gives a great feeling when shooting.

The Condor SPECIAL EDITION is also made of heavy, stabilised wood: pressure impregnation of several layers of wood with epoxy resin creates a high-strength riser, which is significantly more torsion-resistant and heavier than risers made of Technowood or other conventional woods. This is a bow predestined for tournament archers, with absolute shooting smoothness and excellent shooting characteristics - absolutely vibration-free and highest precision, without losing the warm, pleasant feel of the wood.

Eight new colour variations were used for this special edition. For the time being, only four bows per colour were produced. Some colours will no longer be available in this form.

The riser is completed by the proven Condor CV limbs. The limbs of the C.V. Edition are based on a core of bamboo wood, which is covered with 1.2 mm thick exposed carbon on the outside and does not require any additional glass laminate. On the inside, however, only highly stable black glass is used, the surface of which has a satin finish. This special limb construction has it all and offers a number of advantages: In addition to maximum torsional stiffness, it guarantees extremely forgiving shooting behaviour and very high speeds.

Right-handed or left-handed?

Determination of the draw hand

The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-handed bow is held in the left hand and drawn with the right hand.

Determining your personal draw hand has far less to do with whether you are left-handed or right-handed than you might initially assume. It is much more about determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for aiming. This then automatically results in the draw hand.

The term dominant eye refers to the eye whose visual information is superimposed on everything. If a shooter tried to aim with the other eye, he would have to close the dominant eye.

There are two ways of determining the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally favoured, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the peephole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise that can be used to determine the dominant eye beyond doubt:

  • The arms are stretched out and a triangle is formed with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands.
  • A small target is aimed at through the triangle, for example a socket or a cupboard knob. Focus on this object.
  • The hands are now slowly brought towards the face without taking the target object out of focus.
  • The triangle of thumb and index fingers will involuntarily tend towards one side of the face and this is where the dominant eye is located.

If the dominance of the eye and hand do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can be easily retrained for the new draw hand, but not the eye.
