SPHERE Field - Screw Tips - Pack of 12
The field tip is the most popular tip shape in archery. The shape of the tip is optimised for 3D targets and penetrates the target as straight as possible. The tip has a groove in which a small red rubber ring sits. This prevents the tip from loosening and turning out due to vibrations.
Hard, harder, hardest: C-Field made of carbon steel
Carbon steel consists of approx. 98-99% iron and the carbon that gives it its name. This is added during production because it gives the material a hardness that iron alone would not achieve during processing. This type of steel is so hard that most sharp blades are made of it today: razor blades, scalpels, cutter knives and high-quality kitchen knives.
Despite all its excellent characteristics, carbon steel does have one disadvantage: it can rust. With a little care, however, this effect can be minimised or corrected and is more of an optical problem in archery than an actual one.
The all-rounder: S-Field made of stainless steel
Unlike carbon steel, stainless steel (also called stainless steel or chrome steel) is an alloy that consists of many more substances, i.e. besides iron and carbon, it also contains chrome and other metals. The chromium makes the stainless steel rust-resistant. The proportion of carbon is of course much lower than in pure carbon steel and makes the tips "softer" and less dimensionally stable.
