SPHERE Max FOC - Insert & Screw Weights
With the components of the SPHERE Max FOC series, the arrow can be tuned even more precisely to achieve optimum results when shooting. The insert and the screw weights are made of brass for this purpose and come in different weights. The insert alone weighs 100 gr and accepts any conventional screw tip. It also has an external thread on the back, which allows it to take additional screw weights. In this way, several screw weights can be screwed onto the insert. The two available screw weights have a weight of 50 gr and 25 gr respectively.
But what is the purpose of this "heavy" insert and the possibility of adding further screw weights? Quite simple: for fine tuning. With the help of the insert and the screw weights, the arrow can be made heavier in the area of the tip so that the centre of gravity - the F.O.C. (Front of Centre) of the arrow - shifts further towards the tip. With a heavier tip or a higher F.O.C. the flight of the arrow and the trajectory can be influenced. The arrow flies somewhat smoother and has a higher kinetic energy, but its flight path is less flat, so that the arrow tends to pull downwards.
