Description

SPIDERBOWS Cloud - 64" - 20-50 lbs - Hybrid bow

In addition to the classic recurve and long bows, hybrid bows also have a long tradition at SPIDERBOWS. In their development, the focus has always been on outstanding performance and pleasant shooting behaviour. An appealing design, paired with the latest throwing arm technology and the finest craftsmanship, characterise SPIDERBOWS Hybrid Bow Cloud.

With a length of 64 inches, the Cloud is a modern, one-piece hybrid bow that manages to find the perfect balance between harmonious shape and optimal performance with its elegant exterior. The handle is made of the latest generation Teknowood. This high-strength, modern composite material, which has become indispensable in archery, brings even more torsional stiffness to the bow and gives it the natural and pleasant feel of wood. The look is determined by the two crescent-shaped elements, which are separated by a central strip of coloured Teknowood. The middle strip is framed by two micarta strips, only 2mm thick, which increase the weight and provide optimal stiffening of the riser. A combination that increases comfort when shooting and guarantees a convincing haptic experience.

Of course, it is not only the look that impresses, but also the finesse of the hybrid bow. No wonder, as this type of bow combines the best of two worlds: At first glance it looks like a longbow, but at 64 inches it is a little too short to be a "real" longbow. However, it makes up for the lack of size with the typical feature of a recurve bow, the clearly visible reflex-deflex shape in the limbs, and thus cleverly combines the characteristics of a longbow and a recurve bow. The result is a compact bow with a smooth draw, high arrow speeds and an almost complete reduction of vibrations in the grip. As is usual with a traditional longbow, the string of the hybrid bow does not touch the limbs, but only the tips.

The sandwich construction of the limbs adjoining the grip area has a core of bamboo wood, on top of which lies high-quality black glass laminate. This construction and SPIDERBOWS' own special limb geometry result in limbs with very good shooting characteristics.

In the carbon versions, SPIDERBOWS supplements the bamboo core with a layer of carbon laminate only 1.2 mm thick. This special limb construction has a lot of advantages: In addition to maximum torsional stiffness, it guarantees extremely forgiving shooting behaviour and very high speeds.

Determination of the draw hand

The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-handed bow is held in the left hand and drawn with the right hand.

Determining your personal draw hand has far less to do with whether you are left-handed or right-handed than you might initially assume. It is much more about determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for aiming. This then automatically results in the draw hand.

The term dominant eye refers to the eye whose visual information is superimposed on everything. If a shooter tried to aim with the other eye, he would have to close the dominant eye.

There are two ways of determining the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally favoured, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the peephole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise that can be used to determine the dominant eye beyond doubt:

  • The arms are stretched out and a triangle is formed with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands.
  • A small target is aimed at through the triangle, for example a socket or a cupboard knob. Focus on this object.
  • The hands are now slowly brought towards the face without taking the target object out of focus.
  • The triangle of thumb and index fingers will involuntarily tend towards one side of the face and this is where the dominant eye is located.

If the dominance of the eye and hand do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can be easily retrained for the new draw hand, but not the eye.
