WILDCRETE 3D Turkey
WILDCRETE 3D targets are characterised by their high level of detail and elaborate hand painting, which is no coincidence, as Wildcrete has been successfully manufacturing figures for the garden sector for many years and has become one of the largest manufacturers worldwide in this field. Wildcrete also uses this experience in the development and production of its 3D targets for archery, thus guaranteeing high-quality mould construction and lifelike colouring of the targets. The result is a quality that stands out and is unmatched on the market.
The turkey is a large bird of the genus Meleagris and is native to North America. There are two species of turkey still in existence: the wild turkey from eastern and central North America and the peacock turkey from the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. The males of both species have a characteristic fleshy flap of skin, known as a ‘snood’, which hangs down from the top of the beak. They are among the largest birds in their range.
As with many large, ground-dwelling bird species, the males are larger and much more colourful than the females. The earliest turkeys evolved over 20 million years ago in North America and share a more recent common ancestor with black grouse, pheasants and other gallinaceous birds. The wild turkey is the ancestor of the domestic turkey, which was domesticated around 2,000 years ago.
