Description
WILDCRETE 3D Wild Boar
The wild boar, also known as the wild pig or common wild pig, is a member of the Suidae family that is native to much of Eurasia and North Africa and has been introduced to the Americas and Oceania. The species is now one of the most widespread mammals in the world and is the most widespread suiform species. Due to its large range, high population numbers and adaptability to different habitats, it is classified as not endangered on the IUCN Red List. However, it has established itself as an invasive species in some parts of its introduced range.
Wild boars probably originated in Southeast Asia and spread during the early Pleistocene, displacing other species as they spread across the Old World.
